Utah Talons pitcher Montana Fouts set a new Athletes Unlimited Softball League single-season record by earning her seventh victory on Saturday night during a 5-4 relief win against the Carolina Blaze.
Fouts threw two scoreless and hitless innings of relief to secure the historic win, advancing her season record to 7-1.

The victory keeps the Utah Talons at the top of the league standings with a 13-5 record.
Earlier in the week, Fouts tossed a dominant four-hit shutout against the Blaze at Durham Bulls Athletic Park.
That performance marked the sixth complete-game shutout in league history, where she retired the first six batters consecutively and executed a crucial barehanded play in the sixth inning to preserve the lead.
Fouts had previously set the single-game league record with 12 strikeouts.
Other League Standouts
Utah Talons teammate Alyssa Denham returned to professional softball following a 2024 spinal fusion surgery that initially forced her retirement.
She was later selected by the Texas Volts in the expansion draft.

“It’s an extreme blessing to get to play,” said Denham.
She noted that her recovery allowed her to return to the circle with a completely new perspective on her career.
“So it’s going to give me the opportunity, I think, to play the freest that I’ve ever played,” Denham added.
Denham secured a victory on June 10 by pitching six innings against Oklahoma City before being placed on the injured list for an undisclosed reason.
Meanwhile, fellow former Arizona Wildcats player Grace Jenkins signed a contract with the Oklahoma City Spark on June 24 after a stellar collegiate career.

Pitcher Taylor McQuillin recorded her tenth career save for Chicago on June 18 before being sidelined with an upper-body injury.
