The 2026 Tour de France enters French territory entirely for the first time during stage four on July 7, 2026.
Riders face a grueling 181-kilometer route from Carcassonne to Foix featuring 2,700 meters of climbing.

UAE Team's Dominance
UAE Team Emirates-XRG riders Isaac Del Toro and yellow jersey holder Tadej Pogacar have secured back-to-back victories.
They completely controlled the third stage to prevent any breakaway success.
Cycling analyst Jip van den Bos highlighted the current dominance of the Emirati squad during an appearance on the Kop over Kop podcast.
She noted how easily the team appears to handle their rivals.
"UAE is gewoon echt aan het spelen met de rest," said van den Bos.
She added that Pogacar still possessed extra energy to accelerate when his teammates increased the pace.

Competitors like Jonas Vingegaard struggled to match the speed, finishing two seconds behind.
"UAE is zo'n bizarre ploeg dat ze niet bang zijn om zichzelf uit te putten," van den Bos added.
Stage 4 Route and Conditions
According to WielerFlits, the upcoming fourth stage features the second-category Col de Coudons and the steep Col de Montségur.
The latter averages a 6.6 percent gradient over 6.9 kilometers before a flat finish in Foix.
Extreme weather conditions will challenge the peloton. Temperatures are forecasted to reach 38 degrees Celsius in Carcassonne alongside a moderate northwest wind.

These conditions make it an ideal day for breakaway specialists rather than pure sprinters.
