USMNT forward Ricardo Pepi and Eredivisie champions PSV Eindhoven intend to continue their partnership into the upcoming season, despite significant summer transfer interest from several major European clubs, as reported by Eindhoven Dagblad.

The 23-year-old American international, who has a contract with the Dutch club until mid-2030, returned to PSV following the United States' elimination from the 2026 World Cup on Monday, July 6, 2026.

Prior to this decision, Pepi had drawn interest from English and German teams, alongside recent transfer links to Serie A giants Juventus and Napoli, according to reports from Kicker and football insider sources.

Napoli's Pursuit Conditional on Player Sales

Italian side Napoli reportedly viewed Pepi as a primary target to rejuvenate their attack, prepared to launch a formal pursuit if existing squad elements were moved.

"Als Napoli daarin slaagt, zullen ze zich met volle overtuiging richten op Ricardo Pepi van PSV met een bod van dertig miljoen euro," stated Napoli watcher Fabio Cannavo on Radio Marte.

Cannavo noted that this potential €30 million bid hinged on the Italian club successfully offloading forwards Romelu Lukaku and Lorenzo Lucca during the current transfer window.

PSV Eindhoven is simultaneously evaluating its broader attacking options as Pepi rejoins the squad, with current forward Alassane Pléa limited to a 30-minute appearance in a recent friendly against Royal Antwerp FC due to a long-term knee injury.

The club is also linked to Bologna striker Thijs Dallinga as a potential target, while free agent Myron Boadu is currently training with the Eredivisie champions to provide additional depth upfront.
