CBS has implemented enhanced security protocols for the upcoming season of Big Brother following an on-set incident during the Season 27 premiere that disturbed host Julie Chen Moonves.
The heightened safety measures are in place ahead of the Season 28 launch on July 9.

The incident occurred during the Season 27 premiere when Chen Moonves was absent from the stage as part of a twist orchestrated by a character called The Mastermind.
Entertainment Weekly reported that a network source confirmed a comprehensive investigation was conducted to determine how the individual gained access to the set.
When asked about her well-being one year later, Chen Moonves told Entertainment Weekly: "You know, that's a trigger for me."
The host engaged in calming exercises during the interview before discussing her outlook on the upcoming production cycle and the safety assurances she received from the network.
"I am not concerned," said Chen Moonves. "Look, we learned from our mistakes.
I've been assured that security's been stepped up. And I haven't heard boo from the Mastermind.
I mean, is he still working on his lair? I don't know.

I feel pretty good. I'm good."
Undercover Guards Deployed
The revised security framework features plainclothes personnel stationed throughout the set to provide discreet protection for the television personality.
"Here's the thing," said Chen Moonves. "Kept secret.
They don't have to wear a jacket that says 'Security' to be my security.
I mean, is that the person who does my hair and makeup, or is that security? You don't wanna find out."
The upcoming season kicks off with a 90-minute premiere broadcast on Thursday, followed by a second 90-minute episode on July 12.

Midweek episodes will maintain an hour-and-a-half format all season, while Sunday and Thursday broadcasts will revert to 60 minutes after opening week.
