The Queensland Maroons will host the New South Wales Blues in the 2026 State of Origin series decider at Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium on Wednesday, July 8, 2026.

Kick-off for the winner-takes-all Game 3 is scheduled for 8:05 p. m.

The series is tied 1-1 after two historic matches. New South Wales secured the opening game in Sydney by completing the largest comeback in Origin history.

Queensland responded in Melbourne by scoring a record-setting 36 second-half points to level the series.

This match marks the 25th time in State of Origin history that a deciding game is required to determine the shield winner.

Historically, Queensland holds the advantage in Game 3 deciders with 16 victories compared to six for New South Wales, alongside two draws.

Team Changes for the Decider

Maroons coach Billy Slater has introduced three adjustments to his squad for the final bout.

Injuries have been overcome by Patrick Carrigan and Jeremiah Nanai to secure positions on the interchange bench. Corey Horsburgh has been named as the 20th man.

Blues coach Laurie Daley has instituted five lineup changes. Winger Jack Bostock is set to make his State of Origin debut.

The New South Wales roster also brings in Stephen Crichton and Bradman Best at centre, Liam Martin in the back-row, and includes Haumole Olakau'atu and Blayke Brailey on the bench.

Match officiating will be led by referee Ashley Klein, marking his 23rd career Origin appearance.

Klein maintains the same refereeing group utilized throughout the 2026 series, with Chris Butler managing the video bunker alongside touch judges Matt Noyen and Phil Henderson.
