A new tribute to the iconic Audi Sport Quattro has emerged, but it doesn't start with a real Quattro.

HSR Manufaktur, a company you may not know, has created the Type 859.

The car is based on an old Audi Coupe B2, not a rare Sport Quattro.

This approach avoids cutting up valuable originals, similar to what HWA does with its Evo.

Carbon Fiber Body and RS3 Engine

Every exterior panel is carbon fiber, and all vents are functional. Active aero components include the front splitter, rear wing, and hood louvers.

HSR targets a weight under 1,200 kg (2,645 lbs). The chassis has been shortened by 12.5 inches (320 mm) and includes a roll cage.

Under the hood sits Audi's 2.5-liter turbocharged five-cylinder from the current RS3. It can produce up to 600 hp in the most extreme mode.

Unlike an RS3, the engine is mounted longitudinally for better weight distribution.

A six-speed manual from an S4 handles the power, paired with a Torsen center differential and a mechanical LSD at the rear.

The car also features active suspension, carbon ceramic brakes, rev matching, and launch control.

Design cues pay homage to the original Sport Quattro, including yellow-tinted rally headlights, aggressive front bumper, boxy flared arches, and a large fixed rear wing.

Production is limited to 84 units, each priced at €500,000 ($570,000) before tax.
