Kelly Rizzo has offered an intimate account of her continuing grief following the death of her husband, actor and comedian Bob Saget.

In an Instagram post published Thursday, October 8, Rizzo described the emotional challenges she still faces nearly five years after losing him.

According to Us Weekly, the 47-year-old used a series of slides featuring photographs and personal reflections to explain how bereavement continues to shape her daily life.

She acknowledged that grief can emerge unexpectedly, even years after a loved one dies.

One of the most difficult realities she described was the knowledge that she would never have another new photograph of Saget.

Rizzo also admitted that her grief sometimes feels complicated by the passage of time and the different ways people process loss.

Guilt, Doubt and a Dream

Rizzo wrote that she sometimes questions whether her grief matters less because she knew Saget for only six years.

She also described judging another person's decision to begin dating two months after a loss before reconsidering her own reaction.

In another reflection, Rizzo emphasized the importance of remembering people who have died and sharing their stories.

She noted that the world continues moving forward even as those left behind work through their loss.

Rizzo also revealed that she had not dreamed about Saget for years before experiencing a significant dream about him in 2026.

She described his death as dividing her life into two distinct periods, before and after his passing.

She said ordinary small talk remains difficult because her priorities have changed.

In the caption accompanying her post, Rizzo explained that grief changes over time rather than disappearing completely.

She invited followers to share their own experiences, encouraging an exchange about the different ways people navigate bereavement.

Saget's Death and Their Years Together

Saget died on January 9, 2022, at age 65.

His family confirmed his death after he was found in his hotel room in Orlando, Florida, following a stand-up comedy performance.

According to the family statement cited by Us Weekly, the cause of death was blunt head trauma resulting from an accidental fall.

The actor was widely recognized for playing Danny Tanner on the television sitcom Full House and its sequel, Fuller House.

His family described him as someone who loved his fans, enjoyed performing live, and brought people together through comedy.

Rizzo and Saget's relationship began in 2015 after he contacted her through Instagram, where she shared food and travel content.

Their relationship developed despite their different professional backgrounds, with Rizzo working as a television host and food and travel blogger while Saget maintained his career in comedy and acting.

The couple announced their engagement in November 2017 and married on October 28, 2018, in Santa Monica, California.

Their marriage lasted just over three years before Saget's death.

In an earlier interview with Today, Rizzo recalled the affection they expressed during their final conversation.

She described their relationship as deeply loving and said Saget regularly told people he cared about them.

Rizzo later began dating actor Breckin Meyer, making their relationship public in February 2024.

She explained that she waited 18 months after Saget's death before deciding to date again and said she valued the support and blessing of his daughters, Aubrey, Lara, and Jennifer Saget.

Rizzo also said she was not rushing into another marriage, explaining that she was 45, did not want children, and had already been married.

Her latest reflections show that remembering Saget remains part of her life as she continues navigating grief and new experiences.
