Promoted Teams Face Tough Openers

Newly promoted Worthing will travel to Carlisle United for their first National League match, ending a 140-year wait to reach the fifth tier.

The Rebels secured automatic promotion by winning the National League South title last season.

According to the BBC, Worthing's opening match entails a 720-mile round trip to Brunton Park, a stadium that holds up to 17,000 fans.

This contrasts sharply with their previous league's average attendance of about 1,300.

Hornchurch, the National League South play-off winners, will host National League North play-off winners Kidderminster Harriers on the same day.

Hornchurch are also entering the fifth tier for the first time in their history.

They will later visit Carlisle on August 22 before hosting the reverse fixture on February 27, 2027.

Former West Ham United defender Anton Ferdinand joined Hornchurch's coaching staff in June to support the club's campaign under manager Daryl McMahon.

Hornchurch have achieved two promotions in three seasons.

Woking FC will open their campaign with a home fixture against Sutton United on August 8, followed by an away match at Gateshead on August 15.

The Cards will start their National League Cup campaign on August 19, their FA Cup run on October 17, and the FA Trophy on December 12.

Relegated League Two sides Harrogate Town and Barrow will face Solihull Moors and Hartlepool United respectively on the opening weekend.

Robbie Savage's Forest Green Rovers will host Halifax Town.

The entire opening two rounds of fixtures will be broadcast live on the DAZN streaming network, with the traditional 15:00 TV blackout lifted for those weekends.

To help supporters track matches, Worthing launched a calendar synchronization tool provided by ECAL on July 9, allowing automated updates for fixture changes directly on user devices.
