Volkswagen's aggressive ID. Unyx 09 is nearing launch, and Chinese documents reveal the sporty sedan will offer nearly 500 hp.
The model is larger than the ID. 7 and will be available with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.

Unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show earlier this year, the ID. Unyx 09 was developed with Xpeng.
Volkswagen initially shared few details, only stating sales would begin later this year.
Now, filings with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology detail two variants. The base model features a rear-mounted motor producing 308 hp (230 kW / 313 PS).
Customers can also opt for an all-wheel drive variant, which adds a 188 hp (140 kW / 190 PS) front motor.
Combined output reaches 496 hp (370 kW / 503 PS).
Both versions have a top speed of 124 mph (200 km/h) and use a lithium iron phosphate battery from CATL.
Since the powertrains appear shared with the ID. Unyx 08, the 09 may offer 82 and 95 kWh battery options.
Aggressive Design and Dimensions
The ID. Unyx 09 features a menacing front end with split lighting units and a subtle shark nose design.

Blacked-out A-pillars, muscular bodywork, and a gently sloping roofline continue the sporty look.
A panoramic glass roof and 20- or 21-inch wheels are standard.
At the rear, slender taillights with a red Volkswagen logo sit above a wide trunk and a black bumper with an integrated diffuser.
Measuring 200 inches (5,081 mm) long, 78 inches (1,980 mm) wide, and 59.4-60 inches (1,509-1,526 mm) tall, the ID.
Unyx 09 has a wheelbase of 119.3 inches (3,030 mm).
Curb weights are 4,866 lbs (2,207 kg) for the RWD model and 5,086 lbs (2,307 kg) for the AWD version.

7, the Unyx 09 is 4.7 inches (119 mm) longer and has an extra 2.5 inches (64 mm) between the wheels.
