Smart has released a teaser of the production #2, a two-seat electric city car that revives the spirit of the ForTwo.
The model is set to debut at the Paris Motor Show in October.

The road-going version closely follows the concept shown earlier this year but adopts a revised grille and vertical air curtains.
It also features conventional mirrors, side skirts, traditional door handles, and a larger charging port door.
Refined Design and Testing
The rear end has been toned down with a new liftgate that includes a license plate recess.
The production model also gains a spoiler and a relatively plain rear bumper.
Smart says the #2 is undergoing rigorous pre-production testing and validation to ensure unmatched urban agility, driving stability, NVH refinement, and safety.

Prototypes have been subjected to real-world urban challenges, and engineers have focused on tire selection, testing multiple compounds on rough asphalt, grooved concrete, and high-speed straights to balance low rolling resistance with noise reduction.
The #2 rides on the new Electric Compact Architecture, developed specifically for EVs.
It is targeted to have a 35.7 kWh battery pack providing around 186 miles (300 km) of range.
DC fast charging can take the battery from 10 to 80 percent in less than 20 minutes.

The model measures 109.9 inches (2,792 mm) long and has a turning circle of 22.8 feet (6.95 meters), making it 3.8 inches (97 mm) longer than the second-generation ForTwo.
