A freight train derailed near Wahab Shah railway station in Sindh, Pakistan, on Thursday, causing a suspension of rail traffic across the province.
The incident blocked both up and down tracks, stranding several passenger trains at various stations.

The coal hopper train was traveling from Karachi to Yousafwala when it derailed.
Pakistan Railways officials stated that operations could remain halted for up to 24 hours as crews work to clear the debris.
Multiple passenger trains were affected by the disruption.
The Karakoram Express was stopped at Hyderabad station, the Allama Iqbal Express at Kotri station, and the Pakistan Express at Landhi station.
Additionally, the Tezgam Express was held at Drigh Road station, while the Millat Express and Fareed Express were stopped at Cantt station.
No Casualties Reported
Railways authorities reported no initial casualties from the accident.

Rescue and engineering crews were dispatched to the derailment site, and train operations were halted at Tando Adam, Hyderabad, Karachi, Rohri, and other major stations.
Railways Sukkur Divisional Superintendent Farman Ghani confirmed that specialized relief trains were dispatched from Rohri and Kotri to begin repair work on the damaged infrastructure.
"The track has been affected over a considerable portion and restoration will require time," Ghani said.
Crews are currently working to clear debris from the damaged section and restore operational capacity to the rail line.
The incident comes amid ongoing reports by local media detailing systemic financial constraints, severe staff shortages, and deteriorating equipment across the Pakistan Railways network.

Official sources cited by local outlets noted that resource deficits have caused damage to key assets like locomotives and tracks, escalating operational risks.
