Bublik Reaches Quarterfinals at Generali Open in Kitzbuhel

Defending champion and top seed Alexander Bublik of Kazakhstan advanced to the quarterfinals of the Generali Open in Kitzbuhel, Austria, on Wednesday.

He defeated Argentina's Facundo Diaz Acosta 6-3, 7-5 in 79 minutes.

Bublik, ranked No. 11 in the ATP rankings, delivered eight aces and saved one break point during the match.

He will next play Slovakia's Alex Molcan, who beat Germany's Daniel Altmaier 6-3, 3-6, 7-5.

Upsets and Other Results

Former 2023 champion Sebastian Baez of Argentina upset third-seeded French player Arthur Rinderknech 7-6 (6), 2-6, 6-4.

France's Quentin Halys also surprised second-seeded Valentin Vacherot of Monaco 6-3, 6-4.

Fourth-seeded Argentine Tomas Martin Etcheverry defeated Austrian home favorite Jurji Radionov 6-2, 7-6 (4).

Fifth seed Ignacio Buse of Peru recovered from a set down to beat Switzerland's Kilian Feldbausch 2-6, 6-2, 6-2.

Sixth-seeded German Jan-Lennard Struff lost 6-0, 6-3 to Argentina's Mariano Navone. German veteran Yannick Hanfmann defeated Argentina's Marco Trungelliti 6-4, 7-6 (2).

Wild card Tiago Torres scored his second upset in three days by eliminating third seed Alejandro Tabilo of Chile 6-4, 6-4.

The 24-year-old Portuguese player, ranked No. 427, saved seven of eight break points. He will face France's Hugo Gaston, who beat Tirouan Droguet 6-0, 6-3.

Belgian fourth seed Alexander Blockx secured a 3-6, 6-4, 7-6 (4) victory against Kyrian Jacquet of France.

Fifth-seeded Nuno Borges lost 6-1, 4-6, 6-3 to Argentina's Roman Andres Burruchaga.
