Rebecca Ferguson has confirmed she will appear in only one scene in the upcoming film Dune Part Three.
The film adapts Frank Herbert's novel Dune Messiah, where Lady Jessica, Ferguson's character, has a limited presence.

Ferguson explained that director Denis Villeneuve decided to include just one scene for Lady Jessica after originally not writing her into the script.
"Lady Jessica was not originally written into the third film at all," Ferguson said.
"Denis Villeneuve eventually decided she needed just 'one scene,' and that is exactly what she got."
The actress described feeling a sense of FOMO watching her castmates engage deeply with the story while she stepped back this time.

"It felt strange walking onto a production I knew intimately while realizing I barely had a part in it anymore," Ferguson stated.
Dune Messiah, the source material for Part Three, takes place years after Paul's rise to power and focuses on the consequences of his holy war, with Lady Jessica playing a marginal role.
Denis Villeneuve has confirmed that Dune Part Three will be his final film in the franchise and clarified that the three films were never intended as a traditional trilogy.
The film includes returning stars Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Florence Pugh, Javier Bardem, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Jason Momoa.

Dune Part Three is scheduled for release on December 18, 2026, coinciding with the release of Avengers Doomsday, setting up a major box office competition.
