British authorities have launched an investigation into a vehicle explosion in Welling, southeast London, following reports of an altercation moments before the crash.
The incident occurred on Welling High Street at 9:19 pm on July 25.
A car collided with a motorbike, triggering an immediate explosion that engulfed the vehicle in flames.
Emergency services extinguished the blaze, which completely destroyed the car. Officials confirmed that no injuries were reported from either the collision or the subsequent fire.
Police are now focusing on allegations that a physical fight broke out among those involved shortly before the vehicles collided.
“Police are investigating reports of an altercation between those involved prior to the collision,” a Metropolitan Police spokesperson said.
Investigators continue to gather evidence regarding the circumstances leading up to the crash. “Enquiries remain ongoing and no arrests have been made at this stage,” the spokesperson added.
