Mercedes-AMG is bringing back the V8, but the timeline remains unclear.

The brand has heavily reworked its familiar 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, fitting it with a flat-plane crank and making it fully Euro 7 compliant.

When asked about the engine's arrival, Mercedes board member Mathias Geisen told Road & Track that enthusiasts need to “stay tuned.”

He added, “One step after the other.

First we have to make sure we have a very nice and sophisticated V-8, and of course we now look into market demand and have some plans of where else to use it.”

Which AMG Models Will Get the V8?

The limited-run Mercedes CLE Mythos is expected to be the first AMG product to feature this V8.

Other AMG models are also tipped to receive the engine.

Spy shots suggest a '63'-badged CLE could arrive with around 577 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque.
