Ottawa Paramedic Service responded to three separate assaults involving edged weapons on the evening of July 23, according to officials.
The incidents occurred in different parts of the city within about 30 minutes.

First Assault Near ByWard Market
The first call came at 9:12 p. m.
near King Edward Avenue and Murray Street, northeast of ByWard Market.
A man in his 20s sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital.
Second Attack on Clarence Street
Minutes later, at 9:14 p. m.
, another assault was reported on Clarence Street in the Market area.
A female victim suffered serious but stable injuries and was hospitalized.

Ottawa Police Service Const.
Fern John-Simon said a 33-year-old woman was arrested in connection with this incident, and the investigation is ongoing.
Third Incident in Nepean
The final attack occurred around 9:42 p. m.
in Nepean, near Shoreham Avenue and Craig Henry Drive.
A man in his 50s was seriously injured but remained in stable condition.
Two young suspects were identified, with one in custody as of July 24, John-Simon said.

Nicolas Guertin, acting superintendent for paramedics, confirmed the stable condition of the seriously injured victims and highlighted the challenges of responding to multiple violent calls in one evening.
