Tricia Penrose, who played Gina Ward in the ITV drama Heartbeat for 18 years, has become a co-owner of The Goathland Hotel.
The hotel is famously known as the Aidensfield Arms in the series.

The Goathland Hotel is located in the North York Moors village of Goathland.
It served as the fictional pub in Heartbeat, which aired from 1992 to 2010 and attracted millions of viewers.
Penrose joined two local businessmen in purchasing the hotel. The property had been run by the Richardson family for more than 40 years before the sale.

Penrose announced the purchase on Instagram. She wrote, "I have some exciting news to announce.
I am now the proud owner along with two local businessmen of The Goathland Hotel, well known as The Aidensfield Arms where I played Gina Ward for 18 years.
Gina's going home!! Woohoo!!!"
She added plans to keep customers updated through a YouTube channel. She also mentioned visiting the pub to meet supporters.

The Richardson family, who managed the pub for decades, expressed pride in their stewardship.
They said, "A time that has seen more changes and challenges in the hospitality industry than ever before.
That's all before the total one-off of running a building with a film crew round every corner, an experience never to be repeated."
The Goathland Hotel was the location for many interior scenes of Heartbeat before a replica interior was built.

Heartbeat was set in a fictional Yorkshire village during the 1960s. It was based on books by Peter Walker, writing as Nicholas Rhea.
Penrose, 56, also recently married Chris Hargreaves. She joined the show in its second season and appeared until its end in 2010.

Fans expressed support and excitement for the new venture. Some shared memories of visiting the pub and the Heartbeat filming locations.
