Rockstar has clarified how region locking applies to Grand Theft Auto VI pre-order codes, highlighting key differences between Xbox and PlayStation versions.

Xbox codes are not region-locked, meaning players can purchase them from any country and redeem them globally without restrictions.

PlayStation codes, however, are restricted by region. Codes can only be used on PlayStation accounts registered to specific countries or areas.

PlayStation Region Categories

Region categories for PlayStation include Brazil, LATAM countries (such as Argentina and Mexico), North America, South Korea, Japan, the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia and UAE, rest of Asia (including Hong Kong and Thailand), and a broad grouping covering EMEA and parts of Asia-Pacific (including Australia, France, Germany, India, and others).

Japan has a special condition: product codes expire 170 days after issuance, tied to the game's launch date on November 19, 2026, due to local regulations.
