Super League side Wakefield Trinity has secured hooker Mason Teague on a two-year contract, with the player set to join the club for the 2027 season.
The move positions the 23-year-old as the successor to Tyson Smoothy, who will depart at the end of the current campaign.

Teague, a Cook Islands international, arrives from the Queensland Cup team Burleigh Bears.
He previously made eight NRL appearances for the Dolphins, though his last top-tier match was in 2024. The player can also operate as a loose forward.
Expressing enthusiasm about the move, Teague said he is excited to compete in Super League and contribute to the team's progress.

He praised the club's direction and the support of the fans.
Head coach Daryl Powell highlighted that Teague was identified through data analysis and character references from Australia.
