Performance and Architecture

Kimi K3 recorded a +9.75% net-improvement score, making it the top-performing open-weight model among 42 evaluated systems, according to Agent Arena data.

Moonshot AI developed the system using a Mixture-of-Experts architecture, which manages compute costs by activating specialized pathways for individual tasks.

The model features a 1 million token context window and native vision capabilities, delivering 2.5 times the intelligence-per-compute efficiency of the previous K2 version.
