Chicago amassed 14 hits to secure its eighth win in the last 12 games, while St. Louis fell to 6-14 over its past 20 contests.
Bregman Breaks Slump
Bregman, who sat out Sunday's game after an 0-for-12 slump, opened the scoring with an RBI double in the first inning, driving in Seiya Suzuki.
Miguel Amaya added an RBI single in the second to extend the lead.
St. Louis responded in the second when José Fermín hit a 407-foot solo home run off a first-pitch fastball.
Bregman countered in the third with a lead-off home run to right field, his 11th of the season.

Nico Hoerner delivered a two-run single in the fifth inning and added a two-run home run in the ninth.
Masyn Winn and Bryan Torres drove in runs for St. Louis in the sixth.
Left-hander David Peterson earned the win, allowing two runs on three hits over 5 2/3 innings with two strikeouts.
St. Louis starter Matthew Liberatore took the loss, giving up three runs on eight hits in 3 2/3 innings.

The teams continue their four-game series Tuesday, with right-hander Colin Rea scheduled to start for the Cubs.
