Emergency Declarations and Safety Measures

Municipal leaders issued emergency declarations and public safety mandates to streamline response efforts.

Neenah Council President Dan Steiner declared a local state of emergency, authorizing emergency procurements, overtime, and inter-agency coordination.

"This declaration allows the City to take the necessary actions to protect public health and safety, coordinate response efforts, authorize emergency resources, and document damages and costs for potential state and federal assistance," Steiner said.

Menasha Mayor Hammond and Grand Chute officials also declared disaster states. In response, Menasha and Fox Crossing instituted a daily 10 p.

m. to 5 a.

m. curfew, excluding essential workers.

Fox Crossing issued a boil-water order for residents east of the Fox River.

Appleton Mayor Jake Woodford addressed the ongoing municipal response after city departments mobilized to clear roads and handle urgent calls.

"In the immediate term our focus is on emergency response and getting to the people who need help immediately," Woodford said.

"And then we will get into those recovery efforts. Clearing roads, taking care of trees.
