President Donald Trump revealed that the White House has ordered a fleet of 250 Cadillac Escalades to replace the Secret Service's aging armored Suburbans.
The announcement came during his visit to General Motors' Milford Proving Ground in Michigan.

Speaking to GM employees and officials, Trump praised the automaker and credited his tariff policies for bringing jobs back to America.
He noted that the Escalades would make the Secret Service look sharp, adding, "Our guys are very spoiled.
They like the Escalade. So do I."
Armored Fleet Details
The standard Escalade starts at $91,100, but the government versions will be heavily modified.
They are expected to feature a heavy-duty chassis, extensive armor, ballistic glass, and eight-lug axles, essentially serving as Cadillac-styled updates of the Chevrolet Suburbans currently used.

The order likely confirms a procurement program from March 2025, when the Department of Homeland Security awarded GM a $14.8 million contract to develop the next presidential limousine, "The Beast," and supply support vehicles.
The contract could reach $40.8 million through 2029.
Trump's visit marked the first by a sitting president to GM's historic Milford facility.
He watched drag races involving the Corvette ZR1X and GMC Hummer EV, inspected GM Defense vehicles, and sat in a Cadillac Celestiq.

He also signed the hood of a special edition Corvette Stingray celebrating the US's 250th anniversary.
