BMW's electric X5 M prototype has been spotted testing in Germany, and it's missing one key feature: exhaust pipes.
The heavily camouflaged vehicle appears to be an all-electric performance SUV, with no tailpipes in sight.

Electric Powertrain and Performance
The prototype features a chunkier kidney grille than the regular X5 and iX5, giving it a more aggressive look.
Without a V8 engine, the extra openings are used for cooling the battery, motors, and brakes.
Large drilled discs and six-piston calipers at the front suggest serious braking capability.
The electric X5 M is expected to use four electric motors, one per wheel, for independent torque control.

Power is rumored to be around 900 hp (912 PS / 671 kW), making it the fastest X5 M yet.
This would allow it to compete with the Porsche Cayenne Electric, which offers up to 1,139 hp on overboost.
Production and Naming
BMW reportedly will not use the iX5 M badge; instead, it will simply be called X5 M, treating electric power as another drivetrain option.
Production is scheduled to begin in the first half of 2028.

A V8-powered X5 M and X5 M70 are also in development for fans of internal combustion engines.
