Former Top Gear host Richard Hammond has been fined £999 after being caught speeding twice within three weeks in Herefordshire.
The 56-year-old television presenter appeared at Telford Magistrates Court on July 22, 2026, where he faced two counts of exceeding speed limits while driving luxury vehicles.

Court records revealed that a police officer using a handheld device recorded Hammond's Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo traveling at 68 mph in a 50 mph zone on the A40 in Pencraig on December 2.
Twenty days later, on December 22, speed cameras captured his Bentley Continental GT moving at 82 mph in a 70 mph zone on the A50 Rudhall overbridge.
West Mercia Police initially had difficulty locating Hammond, sending official notices to his Grade II*-listed castle and a £1 million farm estate before finally reaching him at his £2 million mansion near Abergavenny, Wales.
Hammond pleaded guilty through his legal team to both speeding charges.
Magistrate Ann Minton imposed seven penalty points on Hammond's driving license and ordered total payments of £1,771.

This included two individual fines totaling £999, £240 in court costs, and £532 in victim surcharges.
The court processed Hammond alongside 38 other driving offenders under the Single Justice Procedure.
Prosecution charges alleging Hammond failed to identify himself as the driver and ignored official communications were withdrawn after his legal representative submitted proof of compliance.
"He replied, identifying himself as the driver. He sent the reply by First Class post.
He posted the reply himself," wrote Hammond's solicitor in court correspondence.
