Dutch police have arrested a man in Almelo in connection with the violent death of a 35-year-old Enschede resident.

The victim's body was discovered Sunday inside a hotel room in Rees, Germany.

Preliminary reports indicate possible strangulation. The victim had a physical disability and used a wheelchair.

According to regional broadcaster RTV Oost, the victim and the suspect had attended a regional fireworks show over the weekend before checking into the hotel near the border.

Arrest at Suspect's Home

Local police apprehended the suspect outside his residence in Almelo on Tuesday morning. He was standing near his vehicle with luggage at the time.

A neighbor reported that officers arrested the man while he appeared prepared to depart. His car was impounded for investigation.

Hotel staff discovered the victim's body on Sunday after he failed to check out at the designated time.

German authorities have not publicly disclosed details of what transpired inside the hotel room.
