Artificial intelligence cloud infrastructure provider CoreWeave has seen its stock decline more than 30 percent over the past month through July 2026, as Wall Street intensifies scrutiny over the company's heavy capital spending and rising debt.
The company's first-quarter 2026 financial results showed a net loss of $740 million on revenue of $2.078 billion.

Interest expenses doubled to $536 million, while free cash flow plunged to negative $4.711 billion. Total liabilities reached $50.814 billion.
Market Competition and Investor Sentiment
Investor sentiment worsened on July 17, when Meta Platforms launched its commercial Meta Compute cloud service.
The move raised concerns about customer overlap and potential market cannibalization, causing CoreWeave shares to drop 35 percent that day, followed by an additional 11.37 percent decline on July 24.
CoreWeave relies heavily on major commercial commitments, including a $21 billion agreement with Meta, approximately $22.4 billion in OpenAI contracts, and multi-year deals with Anthropic.

Its total revenue backlog stands at nearly $100 billion.
Wall Street remains divided on the stock.
Consensus price targets sit at $138.03, while Rosenblatt Securities maintains a Street-high target of $250, citing long-term infrastructure demand.
However, persistent GAAP net losses and executive stock sales totaling $24.07 million in July have kept pressure on the equity.
