Mercedes-AMG has unveiled the CLE 646 Spezialanfertigung, the second model in its Mythos line.

The limited-run coupe pairs a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 with rear-wheel drive and a production run of just 30 units.

All 30 examples have already been sold, and Mercedes has not disclosed pricing.

A V8 With 637 HP and Rear-Wheel Drive

At the heart of the CLE 646 is a modified version of AMG's M177 EVO 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8.

It produces 637 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque between 2,500 and 4,500 rpm.

An Akrapovic titanium exhaust is standard, and cooling has been upgraded with a high-temperature circuit for the engine plus two low-temperature circuits for charge air and transmission oil.

The 48-volt components are also cooled.

Unlike other AMG models, the CLE 646 sends power exclusively to the rear wheels.

It adds an electronically controlled limited-slip differential and a nine-speed automatic transmission.

The sprint to 62 mph takes 3.9 seconds, and 124 mph arrives in 11.4 seconds.

By comparison, the outgoing C 63 S with its plug-in hybrid turbo-four reaches 62 mph in 3.4 seconds.

Carbon Fiber, Less Weight, and a Stripped Cabin

The design departs sharply from the standard CLE, with a new bumper, carbon fiber splitter, and a custom hood.

Flared arches sit at all four corners, and the car rides on 305/30 ZR 20 front and 335/30 ZR 20 rear tires using technology from the AMG One hypercar.
