A severe fire broke out at the Youngster youth care facility in Beekbergen on Tuesday night, forcing the evacuation of approximately 20 residents and staff.
One resident was hospitalized with urgent injuries.

Emergency services responded to the facility on Lage Bergweg, which serves young people with complex psychological issues.
Flames engulfed the building, but staff confirmed that all other occupants safely escaped. Remaining youths were collected by family members.

Authorities upgraded the response to a 'very large fire' and declared a GRIP 1 emergency status to coordinate multi-agency operations.
The escalation was necessary due to several nearby campsites, including a neighboring children's camp where 186 children were evacuated to Bussloo with help from the Red Cross.
Smoke from the blaze drifted toward the A50 highway, prompting fire crews to conduct air quality measurements.

Officials reported no elevated concentrations of carbon monoxide or other dangerous substances, though residents in the surrounding area reported strong odor nuisances.
Firefighters fully extinguished the flames shortly after 6:00 a. m.
on Wednesday morning.
Because the building dates back to 1981, authorities closed Reeënbergweg between Lage Bergweg and Hoge Bergweg to investigate whether debris on the road contains asbestos.
Inspectors are also assessing whether the evacuated tent camp was contaminated with asbestos particles, preventing the displaced children from returning on Wednesday morning.
