Leicester City has completed the season-long loan signing of Manchester City left-back Christian McFarlane. The 19-year-old defender will join the Foxes for the 2026-27 campaign.
McFarlane becomes the third summer arrival at the King Power Stadium under manager Russell Martin. He follows Conor Chaplin and Alex McCarthy in bolstering the squad's defensive options.

The England youth international began his career at New York City FC's academy in 2018.
He signed a professional contract at age 14 and made 13 senior appearances in Major League Soccer.
Manchester City acquired McFarlane in January 2025, beating interest from Brighton and several Bundesliga clubs through their City Football Group network.
He has yet to feature for City's first team but was a regular for their Under-21 side last season.
For the young Citizens, McFarlane recorded 25 appearances, six goals, and five assists. His contributions included a goal in an April Premier League play-off victory against Arsenal.
McFarlane Ready for Senior Challenge
McFarlane expressed his excitement about the move. "I'm excited and feel ready for the challenge.
I'm ready to step into the men's game and to get started," he said.

The defender believes Leicester's setup aligns with his development.
"Being here is an opportunity for me to develop more as a player – mentally and physically - and to take my game to the next level," McFarlane added.
He described his playing style as intense and aggressive at both ends.
"I like to make runs in behind and can be a bit of a nuisance for the opposition.
The way [the manager] wants to play suits me perfectly," said McFarlane.
The loan involves no fee, with Manchester City retaining the player on their books subject to EFL approval.

McFarlane will join team training ahead of a Friday open session at the King Power Stadium and a pre-season friendly against Genoa on Saturday.
