Actor Mason Gooding recently purchased his first home, a 650-square-foot Manhattan apartment, while opening up about his career and growing up as the son of Oscar winner Cuba Gooding Jr.
Gooding, 29, chose a NYC apartment with green views from a neighboring courtyard after spending years moving around for work and childhood travel.

Working alongside designer Claudia Roth of Claudia Allegra Interiors, he transformed the property into a cozy sanctuary featuring bold colors, dark wood accents, and custom millwork.
The unit features diamond-pattern living room windows, original glass doorknobs, and an analog music nook built for his vinyl record collection.
Growing Up with a Famous Father
Reflecting on his upbringing on the Wildmen Podcast on July 28, 2026, Gooding shared insights into the challenges of having a famous parent who traveled often for film projects.
"My father was an actor and grandfather was a singer.
I have probably a stronger relationship and understanding based on who they were publicly than who they were privately," Mason said.
He noted that his father often had to balance long absences with intense parenting moments upon returning home.
"It wasn’t until I was older that they could — not my grandfather, God rest his soul — but like my dad would have been able to articulate like a lot of the lessons I learned as a kid.
