The Texas Rangers have bolstered their roster with a trade for catcher Logan O'Hoppe and right-handed reliever Chase Silseth from the Los Angeles Angels.
The deal, finalized on July 29, 2026, sends minor-league infielder Angel Arredondo to the Angels in exchange.

Texas made room on its 40-man roster by moving catcher Danny Jansen and rookie reliever Jose Corniell to the 60-day injured list.
O'Hoppe, 26, has struggled at the plate this season, batting . 209 with four home runs and 23 RBIs in 75 games.
He has been optioned to Triple-A Round Rock to work on his swing.

Silseth, also 26, has been a reliable middle reliever for the Angels, posting a 2.72 ERA with 48 strikeouts over 39 2/3 innings in 47 appearances.
He remains under club control through 2030.
The Angels, who entered the night with a league-worst 42-66 record, activated catcher Travis d'Arnaud from the 60-day injured list to pair with Tyler Heineman behind the plate.

Arredondo, 19, is an unranked prospect who hit . 243 with eight home runs and a 113 wRC+ in 85 games for Single-A Hickory.
