Hilaria Baldwin opened up about her long battle with eating disorders, revealing the struggle began when she was just five years old.

The 42-year-old mother of seven, married to actor Alec Baldwin, appeared on SiriusXM's Page Six Radio on July 28, 2026, to share her story.

She described experiencing multiple forms of disordered eating, including anorexia, bulimia, overeating, and undereating.

“I did all of it,” Baldwin said, according to Page Six Radio.

Despite appearing healthy to others, she had a severely distorted body image. “I look back and I looked fine.

But I thought I was a whale,” she recalled.

Her anxiety extended to extreme behaviors, such as being “afraid of how many calories might be in toothpaste.”

Baldwin realized her condition was isolating her and damaging her relationships. “I don't want to live this way; I'm miserable,” she said.

She noted that the disorder made everyday activities stressful.

“I can't have good relationships, I can't have good friendships, I can't eat out to dinner with people.

It's just so, so, so stressful.”

An ADHD diagnosis helped her shift focus toward recovery through yoga and wellness practices.

Baldwin previously detailed her childhood struggles in her book, “The Living Clearly Method,” and shared updates on social media in 2018.

“In my book, I opened up about growing up with an eating disorder.

I turned to yoga, health and wellness to heal my body and my mind,” she wrote on Instagram.

Overcoming these patterns was crucial for her journey into motherhood. She reflected on her past self and how she would have struggled with pregnancy weight gain.

“I'm so happy I can be a strong and happy mommy now, completely accepting of my body,” she wrote.

Today, Baldwin focuses on empowering her seven children—Carmen, Rafael, Leonardo, Romeo, Eduardo, María, and Ilaria—to have a healthy relationship with food.

“What I try to do with my kids is empower them, talk about strength, talk about, 'How does the food make you feel?'”
