The Houston Astros activated right-handed pitcher Hayden Wesneski from the injured list on Tuesday.
He is scheduled to start against the Los Angeles Angels, marking his first major league appearance since May 2025.

Wesneski has been sidelined for over a year recovering from Tommy John surgery.
He made five minor league rehab appearances in the past month, pitching 20 innings with a 2.25 ERA, a 1.00 WHIP, and 21 strikeouts to 4 walks.
His fastball velocity has improved, reaching 96 mph compared to his career average of 94.4 mph.
"I'm going to be nervous," Wesneski said. "I'm excited about it.
I don't know how to act tomorrow, to be honest with you."
He added: "The first time I threw off the mound in the FCL [Florida Complex League], it was big time.
Tomorrow, I can't tell you how I'll act, but I'll figure it out."

Wesneski's return comes as the Astros aim to strengthen their struggling pitching rotation.
The rotation ranks 29th with a 5.17 ERA this season.
He is the second Astros starter to return this season from Tommy John surgery, following Ronel Blanco, who has struggled in his appearances.
Wesneski was part of the package the Astros received in the Kyle Tucker trade, alongside prospects Isaac Paredes and Cam Smith.
According to analysis, the Astros have a real chance to make up some of the lost value from that trade.
The Astros' pitching depth is under pressure as they seek to improve performance down the stretch.
Wesneski's return is expected to alleviate some rotation concerns.

He struck out seven over four shutout innings in his final minor league rehab start last week.
