Ivan Herrera delivered a two-run walk-off double in the bottom of the 10th inning, lifting the St. Louis Cardinals to a 3-2 comeback win over the Chicago Cubs on Wednesday night at Busch Stadium.

The victory snapped a three-game losing streak for St. Louis, which had dropped nine of its previous 11 contests.

The Cardinals improved to 54-54, staying within half a game of Pittsburgh for third place in the National League Central.

Chicago took a 2-1 lead in the top of the 10th when Pete Crow-Armstrong hit his 24th home run of the season off Cardinals reliever Luis Gastelum.

St. Louis answered in the bottom half against Cubs pitcher Trent Thornton.

Lars Nootbaar opened the rally with a pinch-hit single, followed by a walk from JJ Wetherholt to load the bases.

Jordan Walker drove in a run on a groundout forceout to third base before Herrera's game-ending double to left-center field.
