A wildfire broke out near Cliff House Holiday Park in Suffolk on Wednesday night, causing panic among visitors and locals.
Tara Dowsett, a holidaymaker from Chelmsford, Essex, was driving back from Lowestoft when she encountered thick smoke.
She initially thought the smoke came from an uncontrolled bonfire but soon realized the severity of the situation.
During the incident, police had to rescue her dog, which had been left at the holiday park.
"It was a real shock," Dowsett said.
Despite the fear caused by the fire, she praised the local community of Westleton for their positive actions amid the crisis.
"It's scary, but I just want to give a big shout out to the people of Westleton because actions do speak louder than words," Dowsett added.
She reflected on the kindness she witnessed in the community despite widespread negativity in the world.
"There's so much negativity in the world and you realise actually there are more kind people than nasty people," she said.
