Seattle Storm center Stefanie Dolson wore a t-shirt stating "trans rights are human rights" prior to Tuesday night's game against the Indiana Fever.
The move came after recent anti-transgender comments made by Fever guard Sophie Cunningham.

Dolson, who publicly came out as a member of the LGBTQ community in 2016, did not directly address the outfit decision online.
She reshared an image of herself wearing the shirt that was initially posted by the Storm.
The apparel choice followed an ESPN profile where Cunningham said she wants to protect young girls in sports and locker rooms from competing against biological men.
"I got a lot of negative feedback about me hating trans. And I'm like, 'I never once said that,'" Cunningham told ESPN.
"I think that I am here to extend love," she added. "But I also think with that love is truth, being honest.

And I want to protect young girls in a locker room, or young girls in sport who shouldn't have to go against biological men."
Cunningham maintained that her political views are positioned in the middle, agreeing and disagreeing with aspects of both sides.
Outside Climate Pledge Arena, a small demonstration took place Tuesday night in support of Cunningham and her remarks before the game.
The Indiana Fever organization issued a statement noting that neither the team nor Cunningham had knowledge of the demonstration or contact with its organizers, emphasizing that their focus remains on winning basketball games.
During the contest, Cunningham was met with boos from the crowd whenever she checked into the game.

The Indiana Fever ultimately defeated the Seattle Storm with a final score of 105-95.
