In an op-ed published in Variety on July 30, 2026, Aron defended the consolidation against opposition from state regulatory officials and trade bodies.
He argued that a stronger single studio would benefit exhibition chains by supplying more high-profile theatrical titles.

Aron explicitly pushed back against legal challenges mounted by a coalition of 12 Democratic state attorneys general seeking to block the transaction on antitrust grounds.

"Thanks, but no thanks," Aron said regarding the regulatory lawsuit. "Their complaint simply gets the economics of our business backwards."
The executive argued that competition within the industry should be evaluated by the volume and quality of films hitting the big screen rather than the sheer number of operating studios.
