The Sydney Roosters tied the NRL record for most points in a first half, racing to a 48-6 lead over the North Queensland Cowboys on Thursday night.
James Tedesco opened the scoring in the third minute, and despite a quick reply from Braidon Burns, the Roosters unleashed a relentless attack.

Sam Walker and Tedesco each scored two tries in the opening 40 minutes, with Hugo Savala, Salesi Foketi, Mark Nawaqanitawase, and Tommy Talau also crossing to match the record set by Newcastle in 2003.
The Roosters dominated possession with 70 percent of the ball and gained 987 run metres to North Queensland's 346, completing 20 of 22 sets.
Experts Weigh In on Cowboys' Struggles
Former player Andrew Johns noted the Cowboys' difficulty backing up after an emotional win over Brisbane.
"There are excuses, emotionally last Saturday they had a huge game against the Broncos, Townsville was buzzing," Johns said on Nine's broadcast.
"It's incredibly hard on short turnarounds to back up, but this is totally unacceptable," he added.
Johns also criticized defensive lapses, particularly after Murray Taulagi misjudged a high kick that led to another Roosters try.
"This is beyond soft," he said.

Fox League analyst Michael Ennis described the Roosters' performance as a statement. "They have just sent a cold sweat through the competition," Ennis said.
"We were waiting for one of the heavyweights to flex their muscles and the Roosters just made a historic statement, led by their little halfback — the majestical Sam Walker," he added.
Former Rooster Luke Keary praised the spine and kicking game.
"I don't think anyone expected this score and just the spine, led by Sammy Walker and Daly Cherry-Evans' kicking game, this is unbelievable," Keary said.
Ennis highlighted the Roosters' complete control.
"They just haven't given the Cowboys a sniff at all, but they have completely and utterly torn them to shreds everywhere," he said.
Keary called the Cowboys' defensive performance "diabolical."

North Queensland holds a two-point buffer ahead of ninth place with a bye week remaining, while Sydney continues its push toward the top of the ladder.
