The Sydney Roosters delivered a record-breaking performance on Thursday night, defeating the North Queensland Cowboys 82-12 in Round 22 at Queensland Country Bank Stadium.

The 82-point total is the highest score of the NRL era and the third-highest in Australian rugby league history.

It is also the most points scored by any club since 1935.

Walker Matches Point-Scoring Record

Halfback Sam Walker tallied 36 individual points, equaling the NRL-era record for most points in a single match.

He scored multiple tries and added conversions throughout the night.

The Roosters raced to a 48-6 halftime lead, matching the all-time first-half scoring record.

James Tedesco, Mark Nawaqanitawase, and Walker each scored multiple tries, while Hugo Savala, Salesi Foketi, and Tommy Talau also crossed the line.

North Queensland managed two tries: Braidon Burns scored early in the first half, and Chester added another after a mid-field break in the second half.

However, defensive lapses allowed the Roosters to score 14 tries overall.

The victory keeps the Roosters in contention for the minor premiership, while the Cowboys remain in pursuit of a top-eight finals spot.
