Brooksby entered the quarterfinal with momentum, having defeated Corentin Moutet and Edward Winter in previous rounds.
He has won 80 percent of his first serves in the tournament and faced only five breakpoints.

However, Brooksby's conversion rate on break points on hard courts this season has been just 29 percent, which may have cost him in crucial moments.
This victory avenges Brooksby's win over Wong two years ago at the San Diego Open, where he triumphed 6-2, 6-4.
Brooksby now holds a 6-6 record on hard courts in 2026, while Wong has shown a slightly better performance against top-100 players this year.
