Breanna Stewart poured in 29 points and Sabrina Ionescu added 27 as the New York Liberty edged the Los Angeles Sparks 113-109 on Tuesday night at Crypto.
com Arena.

The Liberty, playing in front of 15,499 fans, built an 11-point lead and outrebounded the Sparks 28-21 to secure the road victory.
Rae Burrell led Los Angeles with 24 points on 10-of-17 shooting in 34 minutes as a starter, adding three rebounds, three assists, and four steals.
Before the game, Ionescu credited the team's unselfishness for its strong season.
"We have a really, really good locker room of just really good people wanting to sacrifice their own personal agendas for the greater good of the team," she said.
With the win, New York improved to 16-12, while Los Angeles dropped to 10-17.
Ionescu stressed that building chemistry remains a priority.
"Every year brings new challenges and different adversities," she said. "This year, we're just continuing to build chemistry with one another.
I feel like we're turning a corner, so hopefully we can continue to stack wins."
She also spoke about her broader impact beyond scoring.
"It's not just about the numbers you score or what you do," Ionescu said.

Ionescu emphasized resilience regardless of shooting performance.
