Wildfires across Oregon and Washington have scorched 2,193,524 acres as of July 30, 2026. This marks the region's most severe wildfire season since at least 2000.
Oregon currently hosts the four largest active blazes in the United States. More than 11,600 personnel are battling 30 large fires statewide.

In total, 45 uncontained large blazes remain active across the Pacific Northwest. The region has been pushed to Preparedness Level 5.
Major Fires and Evacuations
The Rowe Creek Complex in central Oregon has grown to 300,592 acres with 42 percent containment.
Emergency crews are focusing on structure protection around Mill Creek, Johnson Creek, and Marks Creek near Prineville.
The Crook County Sheriff's Office upgraded evacuation levels for residents between Johnson Creek and Mill Creek.
High winds and steep topography near Mill Creek continue to challenge containment efforts.

The Bench Fire, located four miles southwest of Warm Springs, has burned 64,407 acres and reached 22 percent containment.
The blaze has destroyed eight homes on or near the Warm Springs reservation, along with five other structures.
Other major blazes in Oregon include the 64,493-acre Shingle Fire at 6 percent containment, the 27,429-acre Akawa Butte Fire at 19 percent containment, and the 21,126-acre Grasshopper Fire at 0 percent containment.
The National Weather Service issued a Fire Weather Watch for Saturday. A dry cold front with gusty west winds is expected to heighten fire danger across eastern regions.

Fire officials will hold a public meeting Thursday evening at Barnes Butte Elementary School in Prineville to provide further updates.
