Oregon quarterback Dante Moore is recovering in a local hospital and remains able to move after taking a severe head hit during Saturday night's 41-27 win over USC in Los Angeles.
Head coach Dan Lanning addressed Moore's condition right after the game, confirming the starting quarterback was taken to Los Angeles General Medical Center for medical evaluation.
Moore was removed from the field on a stretcher before being loaded into an ambulance.
"He's in recovery, so I don't want to speak too soon, but he's moving, he has the ability to move," Lanning said.
"So, we'll continue to assess him, but I don't want to speak too soon, but he's moving."
How the injury unfolded
The injury occurred early in the second quarter when USC linebacker Desman Stephens II made contact with Moore's head as the quarterback was sliding.
The hit triggered visible frustration from Oregon personnel on the sideline before medical staff immobilized Moore and placed him in an ambulance.
Backup quarterback Dylan Raiola entered the game after the sequence and completed 19 of 25 pass attempts for 289 yards and two touchdowns to secure the road win.
The No. 20 Ducks now enter a bye week while awaiting further diagnostic updates on Moore's recovery.
