Strategic Shift After a Decade
The sale marks a major strategic shift for Sainsbury's, which acquired Argos in 2014 as part of a £1.3 billion deal with Home Retail Group, also including Homebase and Habitat.
Swift Partners, formed specifically for this acquisition, includes former Co-operative Group chief executive Richard Pennycook among its leadership.
