The San Francisco 49ers have re-signed wide receiver Deebo Samuel to a one-year, $7 million contract, according to reports from ESPN and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Samuel returns to the Bay Area as the team deals with injuries to key receivers during training camp.

Second-year receiver Ricky Pearsall is managing knee swelling from a previous PCL injury, while offseason signee Christian Kirk suffered a calf strain on the first day of camp, per CBS Sports.
These setbacks have left newly signed free agent Mike Evans and rookie second-round pick De'Zhaun Stribling atop the depth chart, with Demarcus Robinson providing additional depth.
Samuel's Return and Role
Samuel previously spent six seasons with San Francisco after being drafted in the second round in 2019.

He earned All-Pro honors in 2021 after recording 1,405 receiving yards and 14 total touchdowns.
The 30-year-old played the 2025 season with the Washington Commanders, leading the team with 72 receptions for 727 yards and five touchdowns.

According to Matt Barrows of The Athletic, Samuel is projected to play as the "Z" receiver, a role where head coach Kyle Shanahan previously utilized him in both receiving and backfield duties.
