Director Jane Schoenbrun has released her third feature film, "Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma," starring Hannah Einbinder and Gillian Anderson.
The film had its red carpet screening at the DGA Theater Complex in Los Angeles on July 29, 2026.

The story follows Kris Williams, a 29-year-old queer independent filmmaker played by Einbinder. She is hired by a movie studio to reboot an iconic 1980s slasher franchise.
Kris contacts Billy Presley, portrayed by Anderson, a reclusive former actress in her 60s. Billy played the character Squeak in the original installment before leaving Hollywood.
Kris travels to a remote compound in the Pacific Northwest where Billy resides. This leads to a personal and creative encounter between the two women.
Exploring Fan Culture and Artistic Toll
The narrative examines fan experience, media consumption, and the emotional toll on artistic creators.

Schoenbrun previously directed "We're All Going to the World's Fair" (2021) and "I Saw the TV Glow" (2024).
The new project was showcased at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival earlier this year, where it won the Queer Palm award.
"I swear they choose me, I'm not choosing them," said Einbinder about her roles.
The Los Angeles premiere drew high-profile attendees, including Oscar-nominated actress Kristen Stewart. Also present were Einbinder's "Hacks" co-stars Mark Indelicato and Paul W.
