The Los Angeles Dodgers announced Friday that they have selected the contract of left-handed pitcher Cole Irvin from Triple-A Oklahoma City.
To make room on the 40-man roster, the team designated right-handed pitcher Chayce McDermott for assignment.

In a corresponding move, the Dodgers placed right-handed pitcher Brock Stewart on the injured list due to right shoulder discomfort.
Irvin's Path Back to the Majors
Irvin, 32, joins the Major League roster after making 20 starts for Oklahoma City this season.
He compiled a 9-6 record with a 3.58 ERA in those appearances.
This marks his first big-league assignment since pitching for the Minnesota Twins in 2024.
Over parts of six Major League seasons, Irvin has a 28-40 record and a 4.54 ERA in 134 games, including 93 starts.

He has previously played for the Philadelphia Phillies, Athletics, Baltimore Orioles, and Twins. Irvin originally signed a minor league contract with the Dodgers on February 4.
He was drafted by Philadelphia in 2016 out of the University of Oregon.
Stewart's Injury Setback
Stewart, 34, is now on the injured list for the third time this season.
In 14 relief appearances for Los Angeles this year, he allowed eight earned runs and struck out 14 batters over 14.2 innings.
Now in his eighth Major League season, Stewart holds a career 10-6 record with a 4.34 ERA and 204 strikeouts in 201.1 innings.
