Houston matched a season high with 18 hits and won for the ninth time in 10 games, pushing a half-game ahead of Texas atop the division.

LaMonte Wade Jr. opened the scoring in the second inning with an RBI double.
Yordan Alvarez then added a two-run single against Texas starter Nathan Eovaldi to make it 3-0.
In the fourth, Cam Smith hit a two-out triple, and Jeremy Peña followed with an RBI single, extending his hitting streak to 12 games.
Isaac Paredes and Christian Walker hit back-to-back home runs in the fifth inning, giving Houston a 6-0 lead.
Texas got on the board in the sixth on a home run by Joc Pederson and an RBI single from Evan Carter.

Corey Seager doubled and had two hits in his return from a 23-game absence due to lower back inflammation.
Yainer Diaz started a four-run seventh inning for the Astros with a solo home run.
Houston starter Hunter Brown earned the win, allowing six hits and two runs over 5 1/3 innings.
Eovaldi took the loss after giving up six runs on 10 hits in five innings.
