Clark walked in his first plate appearance before adding a single and two doubles.
At 21 years and 221 days old, he became the fourth-youngest Tiger in franchise history to record three hits in an MLB debut.
Early Offense and Strong Pitching
Fellow rookie Kevin McGonigle provided early offense for Detroit, hitting a 415-foot solo home run in the third inning to tie the game.
He later added a sacrifice fly in the fourth to give the Tigers the lead.

The Detroit bullpen held the Athletics to one run over nine innings.
Tyler Holton started on short notice after scheduled starter Casey Mize was scratched prior to first pitch as a trade deadline precaution.
Ty Madden, Drew Sommers, and Enmanuel De Jesus each pitched scoreless relief.
Ben Malgeri added a home run in a four-run ninth inning, and Javier Báez contributed a two-run single.
